A Commitment to the Advancement of
High-Tech Research
OSU is at the forefront of high-technology
initiatives through the advanced research and development carried
out in the Center for Laser and Photonics Research. In keeping
with its commitment to the advancement of high-tech research,
the Center is working closely with the University to help
achieve President Halligan's goal for OSU to become a Carnegie
I Research Institution.
The CLPR has experienced significant growth in research and sponsored
program activities and expects to continue playing a pivotal role
in attracting external funding to support faculty research. External
support for the CLPR this past year remained at one of its highest
levels since its establishment, despite the dwindling dollars
available for research.
